La Mezquita de Córdoba
La Mezquita in Cordoba Spain contains over 500 marble, granite and alabaster columns. One can see the Byzantine and oriental influences, as well as Hispano-romanic and Visigoth elements throughout the mosque. The grandeur of La Mezquita and its colorful political and religious history has earned it its place as a true wonder of the civilized world. La Mezquita de Córdoba opens with the destruction of the original Christian church in 716 A.D. and proceeds as a musical celebration of its multi-cultural, religious and artistic accomplishments. – From program note by composer
Catch Me If You Can
John Williams’ score to this hit movie starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hanks features an alto sax solo and a wide variety of unique percussion and scoring devices. This superb arrangement includes the most striking musical themes from the soundtrack in a marvelous concert setting. Our own Paul Trethewey will be the featured soloist!

Big Day of Giving
The Winds currently relies on the goodwill of our high school music partners (Placer, Rocklin and Lincoln High Schools) for use of tympani and mallet percussion instruments. We seek your help with our ongoing capital campaign to purchase and store percussion instruments.
