Spring Concert, Sierra College Dietrich Theatre

Please join us for an exciting evening of symphonic wind band music on our return to the Sierra College Dietrich Theatre.

Two of the pieces we will play….

La Mezquita de Córdoba opens with the destruction of the original Christian church in 716 A.D. and proceeds as a musical celebration of its multi-cultural, religious and artistic accomplishments. – From program note by composer

John Williams’ score to this hit movie starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hanks features an alto sax solo and a wide variety of unique percussion and scoring devices. This superb arrangement includes the most striking musical themes from the soundtrack in a marvelous concert setting. Our own Paul Trethewey will be the featured soloist!

Big Day of Giving

The Winds currently relies on the goodwill of our high school music partners (Placer, Rocklin and Lincoln High Schools) for use of tympani and mallet percussion instruments. We seek your help with our ongoing capital campaign to purchase and store percussion instruments.
