Sierra Nevada Winds is Awarded the Sudler Silver Scroll!

This honor is awarded by the John Philip Sousa Foundation, and is considered North America’s most prestigious award for Community Concert Bands.

According to John Philip Sousa Foundation, the purpose of the award is to identify, recognize and honor those community bands that have demonstrated particularly high standards of excellence in concert activities over a period of several years, and which have played a significant and leading role in the cultural and musical environment in their respective communities.

We are excited and honored by this award and offer our sincere thanks to the Foundation for their consideration and acknowledgement of our work! We also thank our outstanding conductor, Robert Halseth, for his musicality and excellence in leadership.

Robert Halseth Honored!

The musicians of the Sierra Nevada Winds wish to sincerely congratulate Robert Halseth who, in February, will be awarded the California Music Educators Association’s Hall of Fame Award Honoring Lifetime Achievement In Music Education. We all personally know how well deserved this award is, and we are honored to be able to share his passion for music in this ensemble and beyond.

Great Fall Concert

We had an exciting concert on November 21 with our usual enthusiastic and supportive audience at the First United Methodist Church in Yuba City. We thank the church and staff who make this concert possible each year and the great audience who come to cheer us on! It is now time for a holiday break, then we’ll be back to prepare for our Children’s Concerts and the Spring Season. See our Concert Schedule.
